I'm the worst at programming this device, and the UV-5R appears a lot easier. And yes, I have had and still have a lot of other radio models. I bought one UV-5R HT's at ebay, and was indeed affected that I bought a couple more. Performance til now appears about par with the other HT examples that cost a allot more. Therefore what if one breaks up, I have spare parts :)!
