How to program a repeater with Standard Offsets
Example: 146.700 MHz
600kHz - offset
into channel 33
CTCSS tone to 123.0
1. Set radio to (Frequency Mode)
a.) Press channel/frequency switch button (orange button from the keypad)
2. Press to select upper display
a.) UV5R Press (A/B) and select the first Display.
3. Menu TDR (Dual Watch / Dual rX) which switches between a (upper) and b (lower)
push [Menu] button 7 [Menu]
change to OFF
push again [Menu] and then [Exit]
4. Delete anterior Data from the channel to programm.
push [Menu] 2 8 [Menu]
type 33 (Memory Channel to be cleared)
push [Menu] and [Exit]
5. Enter the Repeaters Offset.
important: It Requires 5 digits. 5 MHz = 05000
push [Menu] 2 6 [Menu]
push 00600
push [Menu] and [Exit]
6. Enter the Transmitting Frequencies shift.
push [Menu] 2 5 [Menu]
push 2 for - shift.
push [Menu] and [Exit]
7. Set the CTCSS or DCS for Transmitting
( EX: CTCSS TX 123.0 Hz )
push [Menu] 1 and 3 [Menu]
push 1 and 2 and 3 and 0 [Menu] and finally [Exit]
8. Input the repeaters out frequency, 146.700
9. Save RX frequency
push [Menu] 2 and 7 [Menu]
input 33 (Memory ch) ( 000 up to 127 )
remember the channel that was deleted at step 4.
push [Menu] and [Exit]
10. push the [ * ] button. (scan)
This puts it in to R mode ( Reverse) and shows the TX freq.
11. push [Menu] 2 and 7 [Menu]
Input the same Memory ch as above.
push [Menu]
12. push the the [ * ] button. (scan) once again to exit from the R Mode.
13. push [Exit]
This will now show as the channel list whenever you alternate to ch Mode. (MR)
